Honors Courses

Honors classes offer engaging courses with small cohorts across approximately 75 subjects each semester. Most honors classes satisfy General Education requirements or serve as intro courses to a specific major, making them easy to fit into students' schedules. Faculty are hands-on and supportive, and classes focus on creativity, conversation, and exploring new ideas. Most students find honors classes enjoyable and manageable, with grades similar to or higher than regular courses. Enrollment in Honors courses is a privilege awarded only to Honors students.

Honors Forums

The Honors Forum (UNHP 1100) is a fun, one-credit class all freshmen take in their first semester. Each Forum explores an exciting theme, with past topics ranging from "Being a Fan of Disney" to "Strategies for Success in the Herff College of Engineering." The Honors Forum is like intellectual candy: bite-sized, colorful topics that introduce students to the spirit of Honors: curiosity, collaboration, and learning across different fields. Each Forum’s interdisciplinary approach helps students connect ideas, meet friends, and feel welcomed into the Honors community.
