Loewenberg College of Nursing Countering Obstacles to National Nursing Shortage
The University of Memphis Loewenberg College of Nursing is being proactive and diligent in addressing the nursing shortage in Tennessee, which is projected to have a scarcity of 8,500 registered nurses by 2035 according to the Tennessee Hospital Association (THA). With the growing population in Tennessee, THA projects that the nursing workforce needs to grow upwards of 25,900 to meet the healthcare needs of Tennesseans.

UofM Awards 2025-26 Commercialization Grants
The University of Memphis FedEx Institute of Technology and its Office of Technology Transfer have announced the recipients of their 2025–26 Commercialization Grants, awarding funding to seven faculty-led research projects that demonstrate strong potential for market impact. These grants support the University’s mission to advance innovation and entrepreneurship by providing targeted funding to help researchers move promising technologies closer to commercialization.

University Schools Launches Pilot Early Childhood Program with Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital
University Schools at the University of Memphis has started a new partnership with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare (MLH), an early childhood pilot program inside Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Children in the program, ages 3-4, will become students of the district’s Barbara K. Lipman Early Learning and Research Center (ELRC).
