Add-on Endorsement to Existing License

The College of Education can assist candidates holding an active Tennessee teaching license to add other endorsements.  Some endorsements may be added to an initial license by a test-only or coursework option.  Please review the Tennessee Department of Education’s add-on endorsement diagram below or click PDF.

Any endorsement that may be added by test-only option or by coursework, individuals may apply for their endorsement on their own through the TN Compass. If you received a graduate certificate, you could possibly add an endorsement without passing a Praxis exam.  Please see the above chart or click PDF link.
