School of Public Health
Public Health Magazine, Issue 4
I am delighted to present the 2024–2025 edition of RE-AIM Public Health IDEAS, showcasing the vibrant community engagement efforts of the University of Memphis School of Public Health (UofM SPH).
This year’s issue highlights the profound impact SPH continues to have on shaping the public health journeys of our students and alumni, while celebrating the “glocal” partnerships we’ve built across Memphis, the State of Tennessee and around the world.
Between 2024 and 2025, the University of Memphis School of Public Health launched and expanded several major initiatives that strengthened our local and global impact. We hosted the inaugural Public Health Diplomacy Summit, bringing together local, national and international leaders to advance dialogue and collaboration—an effort that culminated in the publication of a Public Health Diplomacy Paper in Frontiers. During this period, we also broadened the reach of the UofM SPH sponsored Public Health Clubs across high schools in Memphis and beyond, launched the EMPOWER Initiative to inspire youth leadership in public health and established the Community Stress and Well-Being Lab to advance research and community engagement around mental health and well-being.
We are excited to continue our commitment toward building an impactful School of Public Health that is Community- engaged, Anchor Institute, offering Research-based solutions, supporting Entrepreneurship and innovation while remaining Student-centric (CARES).
