Biography
Dr. Denise L. Devine is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Teaching with expertise in information management, data architecture, and applied data science. She holds a Doctor of Professional Studies (DPS) in Information Management and an MS in Applied Data Science from Syracuse University, as well as a BBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Memphis.
Her research focuses on dataset FAIR compliance, research data management, and the application of data science to improve organizational decision-making. Prior to academia, Dr. Devine held leadership roles in IT and data engineering, including Interim Director of Information Technology at Vertrauen Chemie Solutions, Senior Data Engineer at Creative Co-op, Chief Data Architect at Fred’s, and System/Network Engineer at Morgan Keegan, Inc., where she led enterprise-scale data initiatives and technology strategies.
Dr. Devine is also the founder of the Memphis Data Science Meetup Group, fostering collaboration and professional engagement in the fields of data science and artificial intelligence.
Currently her research interests are in AI and the application of AI in education.
