Academic Deferment Appeals Process

Students have the right to submit an Academic Deferment Appeal if they experienced extenuating circumstances beyond their control that occurred after the deadline to withdraw. Appeals must meet the following guidelines:

1. Academic Deferment Appeals Open: Thursday, December 18, 2025
2. Academic Deferment Appeal Submission Deadline: All appeals must be submitted no later than 11:59pm on Sunday, January 4, 2026
3. Documentation: Students must include supporting documentation to substantiate their appeal and explain the unforeseen, extenuating circumstance(s).
4. Decision Notifications: Sent out no later than 4:30pm on Friday, January 9, 2026

Only appeals meeting the criteria of unforeseen, extenuating circumstances beyond the student’s control occuring after the deadline to withdraw will be approved. Notifications regarding the status of Academic Deferment Appeals will be sent out by 4:30pm on Friday, January 9, 2026.
