Program Curriculum

15 Credit Hours | 5 Graduate-Level Courses

All students complete the following core courses:

  • PUBH 7170 – Epidemiology in Public Health I
  • PUBH 7150 – Biostatistical Methods I
  • PUBH 7152 – Biostatistical Methods II
  • PUBH 7302 – SAS in Public Health
  • PUBH 7104 – Large Datasets in Public Health Research

Admission Requirements

To apply through SOPHAS Express, submit:

  • Online application
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (minimum 2.5 GPA preferred)
  • Current resume or CV
  • Statement of purpose (maximum 500 words) outlining your career goals and interest in health analytics

Additional Requirements for International Applicants

  • Transcript evaluation by SpanTran or IEE (NACES/AICE-approved)
  • Proof of English proficiency:
    • Duolingo English Test: Score of 110 or higher
    • TOEFL iBT: Score of 80 or higher (code #1459)
    • IELTS: 6.5 or higher
    • PTE Academic: Score of 59 or higher
  • Applicants from select English-speaking countries or with degrees from U.S. institutions may be exempt
  • Intensive English Institute (IEI) option available for qualifying students

 

Graduation Requirements

To receive the Graduate Certificate in Health Analytics, students must:

  • Complete all five courses (15 credit hours)
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Submit an Intent to Graduate form (UofM Graduate School)
  • Submit the Graduate Certificate Candidacy form (SPH Director of Graduate Studies) by the stated deadlines

Grades of "D" or "F" do not apply toward certificate requirements. No more than 7 credit hours of “C-,” “C,” or “C+” may count toward completion.
