Summer at the Scheidt

The University of Memphis Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music is excited to roll out our summer program at the Scheidt. From elementary students to high school teachers, we have summer sessions to help musicians and music lovers stretch their creativity, grow their musical skills, and expand their knowledge. Boasting a world-class faculty, attendees will learn through masterclasses, lectures, hands-on activities, rehearsals, and performances.

Choir Camp
June 8–12
For rising 7th–12th graders — focus on singing, vocal technique, and choral performance. Campers learn from expert
faculty and make music with peers.
Band + Orchestra Camp
June 15–19
For rising 7th–12th graders — explore band and orchestra instruments, ensemble playing, technique, and performance.


Popular Music Camp
June 22–26
For rising 7th–12th graders — dive into the world of popular music! Songwriting, performance, beat making, and
behind-the-scenes creative skills are part of the experience.
Summer Opera Intensive
June 22- July 2
Step into the spotlight with Summer Opera Intensive, an immersive two-week performing arts experience designed for students in grades
7–12!
This unique collaboration between Opera Memphis and the University of Memphis gives young performers the opportunity to train with experienced professionals in a supportive, collegiate-level environment.


Elementary Music Camp
July 6–10
For rising 1st–6th graders — a joyful, beginner-friendly week of music exploration with singing, rhythm, movement,
and playing together (no experience required).
