Nathalie Occean Joins SPH Inaugural Dean’s Healthcare Leadership Community Advisory Group
September 8, 2025 - Nathalie Occean has joined the SPH Dean’s Healthcare Leadership Community Advisory Group, which brings together healthcare leaders whose expertise, experience, and leadership will help provide input about the essential skills, knowledge and competencies that students should possess through their current academic program offerings, particularly the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program, housed within the Division of Health Systems Management and Policy.
Nathalie Occean is the Chief Operating Officer of MedHaul, a Memphis-based digital
health company working to improve access to safe, reliable transportation for patients
with complex medical needs. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University
and her Master of Health Administration from the University of Memphis, an experience
that shaped her leadership in healthcare operations and outcomes.
Her career spans roles supporting strategy, innovation, and quality improvement, including
an Administrative Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina, during which
she became certified as a Professional in Healthcare Quality. Nathalie is active with
the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) nationally and locally,
and her leadership has been recognized with honors such as Memphis Business Journal’s
Healthcare Hero Finalist and Top 40 Under 40 Urban Elite Professional.
