University of Memphis School of Public Health Explores Partnership with City of Millington Government

May 7, 2025 — The University of Memphis School of Public Health (SPH) is exploring a potential partnership with the City of Millington to enhance community health initiatives and support student engagement opportunities.

On May 7, 2025, SPH Dean Ashish Joshi and Community Outreach Representative Steve Shular met with Millington City Manager Frankie Dakin to discuss collaborative efforts aimed at improving public health in the region.

During the meeting, Dean Joshi highlighted the ongoing success of SPH-sponsored public health clubs in local high schools. He also outlined potential opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students to engage in applied research and contribute to city-led public health projects.

This prospective partnership reflects the school’s commitment to community-based learning and service, while supporting the City of Millington’s health-focused initiatives.
