The Dean has responsibility for administering the College of Arts & Sciences, including the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy and the Departments of Anthropology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Earth Sciences, English, History, Mathematical Sciences, Philosophy, Physics and Materials Science, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and World Languages and Literatures. The Director of Administration is responsible for acting on behalf of the Dean, serving as a liaison to department chairs, division directors, administrative personnel, Board of Advisors members, and students. She also oversees College faculty and staff recruitment and provides the Dean with information about pertinent laws, regulations and rules. She coordinates the College's Tenure and Promotion process each year and conducts special research projects for the Dean. 

The Administrative Associate I serves as the primary point of contact for the Dean’s office, managing scheduling, front office operations, and the Dean’s calendar. Key duties include ordering supplies, coordinating events, updating award forms, generating work orders, and maintaining key inventory. The role also supports the Associate Deans in award processes and oversees the ordering of awards, ensuring smooth office operations and efficient communication.

The Pre-Award Grant Coordinator supports researchers in the Department of Psychology and the Institute for Intelligent Systems in managing critical parts of the grant application process. Her work includes identifying and monitoring calls for funding opportunities, developing research proposals for electronic submission, assisting research teams with budget development and justification narratives, and acting as a liaison between researchers and the office of sponsored programs to ensure timely and efficient pre-award management, compliance, and grant submission.

The Career Specialist provides career advising and connects students majoring in STEM with job and internship opportunities.

The Director of Pre-Professional Advising is responsible for advising students interested in careers in the health sciences and assisting these students with their application to health-related professional schools. The Pre-Health Advisor is responsible for creating and maintaining programs and services that provide pre-health students with in-depth information about professional school admissions requirements and an opportunity to interact with professional school admissions officials and practicing professionals.

The Director of Development guides the Dean regarding opportunities to enhance and grow the college's financial resources. Working closely with the Dean and the Advisory Board, the Director focuses on providing College alumni and friends with opportunities to connect with and support the College, its students, and its faculty through the establishment of scholarships, assistantships, and community partnerships.

The Academic Services Coordinator I is assigned to the Undergraduate Advising Center and is responsible for certifying undergraduate students for graduation.

As Director of Student Services, she will supervise the undergraduate advising program and provide training and resources to college advisors. She will coordinate services for students and oversee the processing of undergraduate graduation applications, including researching degree programs, communicating with faculty advisors about students' requirements, and discussing degree completion with students. While serving on various committees, she will consult with the Assistant Dean regarding the general education curriculum and transfer credit evaluation.

The Director of Research Administration oversees and directs pre- and post-award management, compliance, budgeting, and evaluation of research programs and processes.

The Associate Dean in the College of Arts & Sciences assists the Dean with all matters pertaining to the administration of the College. He serves in an advisory capacity to the Dean. The Associate Deans work directly with the Dean on recruitment, hiring, budget development and resource allocation, program and curriculum development, and other issues related to the College of Arts & Sciences administration. Associate Dean Kreuz serves as the Dean's liaison to the social science departments in the College of Arts & Sciences and those interdisciplinary programs oriented toward the social sciences. The Manager of Marketing and Communication works with CAS departments and administration to develop marketing strategies for the CAS; coordinate social media campaigns; create photo and video campaigns to promote the College and its programs, research, students, faculty and staff; increase brand awareness; creating and developing both print and digital marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, viewbooks, social media posts, web content; writing copy for press releases; and more.

The Assistant Dean in the College of Arts & Sciences assists the Dean with all matters pertaining to the administration of the College. She serves in an advisory capacity to the Dean. The Assistant Dean works directly with the Dean on recruitment, hiring, budget development and resource allocation, program and curriculum development, and other issues related to the College of Arts & Sciences administration. Assistant Dean Menson-Furr is the Dean's liaison to the Humanities Departments in the College of Arts & Sciences and those humanities-oriented interdisciplinary programs. She also manages enrollment for the College of Arts & Sciences, oversees the allocation of several college-level awards and student scholarships in the College of Arts & Sciences, chairs the CAS Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, and serves as the College of Arts & Sciences representative to the University Undergraduate Council. The Director of Interdisciplinary Studies supports existing interdisciplinary programs in the College of Arts & Sciences and encourages the development of new interdisciplinary programs. Current interdisciplinary programs include African and African American Studies, Asian Studies, Emergency Management, Environmental Studies, International and Global Studies, Judaic Studies, Legal Thought and Liberal Arts, Pre-Health Studies, Religious Studies, and Women's and Gender Studies. The Administrative Associate II assists the associate deans and faculty in the graduate and undergraduate curriculum, including preparing course revisions, new courses, and catalog changes to be presented to the CAS curriculum councils. The associate also manages and approves Graduate student paperwork, including requests for late adds/withdrawals and overloads. The associate also assists faculty/departments with submitting applications for Graduate Faculty status.

The financial services associate provides the department chair with comprehensive administrative and operational support. She manages financial operations, human resources, and student recruitment while ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures. She also serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external partners, providing information and assistance as needed.

The Pre-Award Coordinator supports researchers in the Anthropology, Political Science, and Sociology departments and the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy (SUAPP), which contains City and Regional Planning, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Public Administration, and the School of Social Work. She assists in finding and securing funding for UofM research and educational projects. Much of the research and financing within these departments is collaborative with community agencies and non-profits.  She works with research teams during the pre-award phase of the sponsored project lifecycle to ensure the proposal is accurate, complete, and compliant with the sponsor's requirements.
